All the best of luck with diagnosis, do test for ehrlichiosis, although both ehrlichiosis and leish can be difficult to get a definitive diagnosis. More info on Leish for those interested (I am sure it has been posted elsewhere in this forum): There is cutting edge research going on with Leish; Dr. Petersen at Iowa State University is at the forefront of said research. Her current study is looking at the prevalence of the parasite in the US in a number of breeds, and she has graciously decided to include the Neapolitan Mastiff in the study. More information is at: http://www.everythingneo.com/ under the medical section. My thoughts are with you and your dog. Cheers, Robin -

Great quote GRBandog! There's another qutoe by him where he celebrates the molossers of Macedonia against the region's lions and even the wolves. He talks about how brave and spirited the beasts are, and despite the danger of their task, they thrive on fulfilling their telos. -

He is currently 5 months old and 75 lbs as of yesterday before breakfast. He is best of friends with our 10 pound terrier and loves kids. Just wondering if there are any other owners of a...

Interesting photos. How does the Bullmastiff perform in the Brazilian heat? I have friends in Recife where it's 80s year round and very few Molossers survive there. I do know that some Brazilian Police like the Tropa de Elite take pride in their working Filas that look like giant bloodhounds that are used to hunt and sometimes kill fugitives in the jungle.
