I don't know anything about raw feeding, but I want to learn anyone care to discuss. One question that springs to mind is for different would you need a different raw food for a shih tzu as opposed to say a English Mastiff

    • Dose anyone have or know where I could find a guide of nutritional values/breakdown for raw meaty bone food sources? Example: Whole chicken skin and bone @ 1.5kg = ?grams Protein, = ?grams Fat, = ?grams Carb, also vitamin and mineral content. I did have a file with this information but have lost it. Any help would be great.

        • We do have an extensive forum on which raw and other feeding protocols are discussed. Please click this http://molosserdogs.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewforum.php?79 to visit the topic.
          • Before I posted my question I did Search for , ''Nutrition Values'' ''Nutritional Analysis'' ''Nutritional Breakdown'' I thought Health, Nutrition & Walefare was the appropriate forum to ask the question. I have read most if not all of the posts on the BARF forum but did not find what I was loking for. My search continues !
            • When I 1st started feeding Raw I made my self crazy with analyzing values of the foods I feed. It does servive a point in the quest for knowledge but, it all gets down to varity and monotoring youu own dog & lifestyle. What works for me won';t work for everyone. I've taken some good ideas from others here. The best quage is your observations of your own dog. When you do find your info, do post a thread in the BARF forum for other in the future.

                • Gary, I feed raw. I have been feeding my dogue RMB since April, chicken to start with then introduced lamb and then fish. I intend to introduce beef this week. I have found similar information to your post but the file I had was very good and included information as to the nutritonal values in the bone as well as meat and skin. I will keep looking and if found I will post. Platz, I agree you can over analysis but I would like to have the information just to reference every now and then. Scarlette, I would visit the BARF / Feeding Raw forum and read through the posts there then pose your questions.
