MERLE PIT
To introduce Merle and keep the color you could probably use an Australian Cattle Dog - the Weimaraner could also introduce the blue but without the Merle. Any other thoughts?

A mate asked me to go with him to look at a litter of Pits.
He told me the seller had spoken to him on the phone and theDam was a merle.
I told my mate there were no merle Pits and to avoid them.
Also told him not to buy a pup without a Bloodline from someone known.
However out of curiosity I went along to visit.
The Dam looked like a work bred Pit,
And they come in many shapes anyway,
except for being a red brindle merle.
Of course my mate picked a blue merle pup.
So happens I knew the boy who owned the brother of the Stud and he is the real thing.
Anyway given the lack of Cat Hounds here how do you think the merle got into the dogs.
My best guess is a bit of Kerry Blue or maybe Wheaten Terrier got crossed in.
Anyone else got any thoughts.
