Need opinions... My dog has a rare forehead

Hi there, I don't think it is normal for someone to crop and dock a dog unless they had a plan for it.  So since this dog is cropped and docked it could be that it was purpose bred.  The Dobey influence is heave there but so is something else.  I am going to take a guess that it could have some chocolate lab in the blood or you may actually have a Canis Panther on your hands.  Check out more photos.

    • My dog's forehead looks different than what others dogs forehead look like on the pictures I see online. It looks like a big bump in the forehead. I mostly notice it on some pics. I don't know if it's something that is normal or not. I'm attaching a few picture, the bump shows in a couple of them

Background on my dog... When I rescued my dog they just told me she was a 6 months Doberman mix. As today the dog is 8 1/2 months old, weight 65 lb and is 24 inch tall. I don't know how many, or which breeds she came from. As far as I can tell, and going by what other people suggested, looks like she has some Doberman, Pitbull and Labrador. One guy suggested she could be a Canis Panther but I don't see any Great Dane on her.

All suggestion are welcome and thanx for reading my thread. Lucky !

      • Is the tissue hard/soft/can you move IT or push IT away?

          • I'm not sure about the rare forehead but that's a cool looking dog. Certainly fits the bill for a canis panther, could also be any number of possible crosses between various breeds, but since you're in the US and LA specifically I think canis panther seems pretty likely. If it was here in australia uncropped and undocked I'd assume it was a mongrel pig dog with apbt, greyhound and dane in it, but yeah probably a canis panther. A nice animal, on the racier side of the canis panthers I've seen which is a good thing IMO.

            • Big Brain little skull...NO just joking! She looks like a dog someone spent money on cropping and docking , heavy Dobe , but come on do you really care.she looks smart and healthy. I have seen that "forehead" lump on more than one dog, usually when say a big headed mastiff gets sick and loses weight it becomes more pronounced, but  in all honesty I think its more of the angle of the shots her side shots do not show it and only direct on shots..if her ears were Straight up I bet your eyes would not notice the line is in perfect harmony with her eyes nose and ears..get a head on shot of a red dobe side by side and see if I am right.I think its a matter of her growing also.

Breeds  a lot of Dobe. maybe mom all dobe and dad was a lab/pit mix or one of those with a Dobe. Regardless she looks very nice and you are both lucky to have found each other.

              • Nice looking dog!

Skulls are a lot like structure...Even in the same litter a breeder might have 3/4 different types, AND that's in "pure" breds!~Add a couple crosses and you can get a plethora of differences.

If it doesn't feel like a fatty tissue and definitely bone under the skin I wouldn't worry.

Looking straight down at the top of her head you see a triangle mark, made by the skull structure, but it's just feel skin and bones to the touch, it doesn't feel any different than the rest of head. Like NickD suggested, it seems to be an optical illusion created by the angle of the shots. After looking deep at a bunch of Dobie pics in Google Image I found a few dobies showing similar lumps marks... My guess is that, since I'm new to living with a dog, I just panicked when I saw the forehead lump on the pics.
