staffy mix amstaff
i just cross a male staffy bull to a female amstaff.does anyone have any info and photos on this particular cross. i am interested in learnig about their temperament, size and drive level. i want to have an idea how the pups will turn out.
Don't know much about the amstaff as never been around one. But i own a 3 year old male Staffordshire bull terrier, & they are lovely dogs around people, young & old. But when it comes to other animals no matter how small or big, they tend to attack with a passion. He's ok with the animals he grew up with (Brother male Jack Russel, friend male Staffordshire bull Terrier........) but thats about it, & he did get alot of socializing as a pup too.

Where are you based by the way?

Think you have chosen two very impressive breeds to cross. if you look at my last post, i was looking for an Amstaff female puppy for my gizmo with no luck what so ever. Is it an Old Theme staffordshire bull terrier you have or is it the show type? -

hi gary, i very much appreciate a post coming from you. i was waiting for it for a long time. i posted a post in the health section about that particular female. but one thing though, you have never seen or heard about that particular cross. and if you have read my post in the health section, i have been able to get her to eat. this dog is driving me crazy. she wants only chicken lunchon meat. i guess i have to go with what she wants. the vet told me that she is just like a pregnant woman and i have to go with what she wants. thanks for the post -

Same here mate old theme all the way. They are becoming very rare in the uk though. Most staffords i c now a days are looking more like over weight Jack Russels. Get some picks up troy, would be good to c what your dogs look like. -

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong, there are so many different types of bulldogs it's hard to distinguish sometimes one breed from the next....but I think for the most part the AmStaff is just a liitle taller, bigger version of the Staffordshire. -

The AmStaff is actually the AKC show version of the APBT. The original standard was based on a Colby bred APBT, I would have to find the book and look up the name of the particular dog. The AKC basically took Pits and put a standard together and started breeding for form over function and "created" the AmStaff. -

thanks for the reply. we have laws against bully type terrier. but i manage to get two amstaff in because the vet knows that i am not going to do bad things with these dogs. they know because i have been breeding for like 15 to 20 years, and i was the local police dog trainer ect.... i think i will get an idea about the breeding if my only pup makes it. she is only one day old now. i just keep on praying that she lives to see the next day -
