When is a dog fat and when is he skinny ?

I wanted to ask some peoples tought's on this matter, because there seem to be alot of different opinions.

alot of people tell me that my dog is to skinny, but i always heard it's better to keep them on the skinny side when they are young for the hips, elbows and other joints.

I agree, better too skinny than too fat.

A modern dog that lives in an house and has no real job should not be fat. I like to think that you should see some rib, but when the spine is visible / sticking out you take it to far.

her spine is not sticking out but her ribs are visible. To me she looks atlethic...

Well, if you like it that was and she ain't begging for food every moment (or is obvious hungry or scavenging) then who cares what people say.

Don't worry about what others say and Know that you are doing what is best for your animal. Any extra weight can not only damage your dogs joints but take away from the years that it will live.

when dogs are skinny its kinda obvious The best guide is honestly your hands and eyes, not just the scale. You should be able to feel the ribs easily without pressing hard, and see a visible waist from above and a tuck from the side. If the ribs disappear under a layer of padding, that's a sign to cut back. I ordered a new scale from buygoods https://buygoods.pissedconsumer.com/review.html to track my dog's weight more carefully. Breed and frame matter a lot too, so compare against standards for your specific dog.
