As Coyotes expand into the major urban areas. Could there be opportunities for Flockguards in places other than the country. http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/coyotes_roaming_manhattan_yAm8a3Yl2ZdmClz3C28CPN http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2006/03/0323_060323_coyote.html Richard -

Coyotes can be dangerous I got a dog to keep them away at the lake lot and in front of my house I've heard them in both locations. They can and have killed in the past especially with kids like this post about they woman killed last fall they attacked 3 kids in a week in a town not to far away from me here is the link. http://molosserdogs.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?70375.0#post_70383 -

LOL And leashed dogs are not much help in hunting coyotes. 8-) -

A big athletic dog shouldn't be confined within limited space. That being said, I can think of a better reason that coyotes for keeping a dog if you live in the city... -

There are plenty of reasons for getting a dog in the city protection from all unwanted intruders 2 or 4 legs you never know and they are also fun to play with mine will also retrieve people from the water a nice bonus. -

Peregrine Falcons living on buildings. Bald eagles flying over Central Park. Now coyotes in the city. Mayor Bloomberg could get some COs for the cites Department of Environment Conservation. Using stimulus funds or from his own pocket. To run off these pesky predators from New York Central Park Sheep Meadow. Just like us "Urbanites" using Border Collies to run off Canadian geese from our public spaces. Richard :) -

My wife and I just recently (2 months ago) purchased a 62.5% boerboel, 12.5% kangal, 12.5% dogo argenino, 12.5% great Dane from Andrew Johnston of olympicdogs.net. He is currently 5 months old and 75 lbs as of yesterday before breakfast. He is best of friends with our 10 pound terrier and loves kids. Just wondering if there are any other owners of a...

Interesting photos. How does the Bullmastiff perform in the Brazilian heat? I have friends in Recife where it's 80s year round and very few Molossers survive there. I do know that some Brazilian Police like the Tropa de Elite take pride in their working Filas that look like giant bloodhounds that are used to hunt and sometimes kill fugitives in the jungle.
