Is this true, is a single sex litter a sign of some genetic fault ?
No. Just breeder preference and stupidity. I know several k9 and PP dog breeders who pray for all or high majority male litters, lol.

While out last night walking my dogue I met a lady walking a male 15week GSD pup. We spoke for a few minuets about each others dogs. The lady told me something I found very interesting and never heard off before. She told me that her dog was from a litter of 5 male pups and that they were handed into a shelter at two weeks because the breeder (probably BYB) belived the litter was flawed because it was all male. Is this true, is a single sex litter a sign of some genetic fault ? -

The laws of genetics and random variation would dictate the sex of pups in a litter. I would call it a crap shoot and figure the odds! Nature have a way of making her own decisions. It is humans who usually do not understand the natural way of things. -

Never heard of it...But than I have heard even more stupid reasons for dogs being put into shelters. If you don't want them than any excuse will do I guess ;)

Interesting photos. How does the Bullmastiff perform in the Brazilian heat? I have friends in Recife where it's 80s year round and very few Molossers survive there. I do know that some Brazilian Police like the Tropa de Elite take pride in their working Filas that look like giant bloodhounds that are used to hunt and sometimes kill fugitives in the jungle.
