Just putting the word out.... Can anyone help foster or adapt this beautiful boy? ============================================ This dog was pulled from a shelter by a rescue group who mistook him for another breed that looks similar. The woman who pulled the dog originally had been told it was a Leo. Too much dog for her. Supposedly someone from 'CO rescue' in Ohio came to look at the dog and wouldn't take him. The person who pulled him cannot keep him. But, in this short time, they saw how special Landric is and that he deserves a real home, not a return to a shelter. Every effort, including financial and transportation will be made to get this boy in the right home. He is in Ohio, but no place is too far, if it is the right place. The word is that this dog has "heart, personality, and wants to be useful to his people...just a GREAT dog." This breed is a flock-guarding breed and will be happiest in a home that has a fenced yard where he can perform his work by patrolling the perimeter. His temperament fits his breed description: stubborn, smart, heart-of-gold, needs an owner who will maintain proper alpha status. This dog has not been socialized and does not get along with the other dog in his foster home. But, on the positive side, he: -walks well on leash -is affectionate to the husband and wife -absolutely loves car rides -accepts petting from strangers -is house broken -is up-to-date on all shots and nuetered -will go in a crate and stay quiet (though he prefers to patrol the house). At this point more information is available from: Karen Barr Grossman KarenBarrGrossman@Yahoo.com 978/546-9144 Yelena Levitina yelenalevitina@yahoo.com 603-724-0224 [br][link={e_FILE}public/1278331225_425_FT0_landric.jpg][img:width=500&height=375]{e_FILE}public/1278331225_425_FT0_landric_.jpg">[/link][br] -

Nice looking dog. Is that the only photo available? Any idea about how big he is (height and weight). or why he was placed in the shelter. I'll call a few people who may be interested. -

I just talked to Karen in MA from Leo rescue, she is getting more info about this boy for me, but the lady who fosters him now is out of country for a few days. I will post more as I get it. Hopefully more pictures too. -

Jelena, let me know where the dog is in Ohio, depending on location I live 35 minutes from the eastern border of Ohio and I may be able to take him for a while myself or place him with a profesional dog trainer friend of mine who has started working with LGDs and has the acreage and facilities to take such a dog. -
