dog food info

I found this summary of nutrition info on vet-md.  Though I agree with some of the recommendation - I think some dogs because of activity and function will need more protein and fat during the growth stage.

    • hi I have not been on here for while but want to know what the best protein for a Caucasian mountain dog some people say 20% other say 25% her I want make sure my dog get right protein %  in dog food

      • 20 - 30% is good. The thing is to moderate growth and exercise. If the dog gets lots of exercise it will probably need more protein.  Most normal owners will probably find that 25% is good enough.

        • Yes please do not give over 30% it's a mistake alot of "big dog" owners make ...  Don't boost your dogs growth because that's all it will do ..

the genetics determine how large he/she will become (if fed properly)

          • ok and grain free dog food better for it too
