LGD's in FCI group 1 and 2
i don't get why LGD's are split into 2 groups wouldn't it be better if they are all in the same group ?
you have the maremma , cuvac, kuvasz , OP, SRO, beauceron in the same group as the malinois, german shepherd , border collie, ...
but their jobs are very different !
and to make matters even worse they have put the saarloos wolfdog and czechoslovakian wolfdog together with the sheep dogs, now this makes zero sense to me.
could some one please enlighten me ?

not sure either, classifications for dog shows do not make sense sometimes, true classifications are scientific ones..

That is partly due to the western idiocy of assuming the transliteration of shepherd's dog to be a shepherd... totally crazy. These breed clubs don't really understand the nature of the dogs they group. They think that the Caucasian Ovcharka (Shepherd Dog) is a shepherd and should herd sheep.. So, don't expect much in terms of scientific sense from most breed clubs.

i dont know which association does it but they do put the CAO, CO, Tatra , etc...in one group without the shepherds...they have it this way:
the herding group: includes shepherds large to medium size GSD, Malinois, berger de brie, etc..
then they have the working group with larger dogs that are mostly guardians: CAO, CO, Tatra, anatolian shepherd, Cuvacz, ,,,,,

First group are dogs Sheepdogs and Cattledogs that have worked and works as sheepdogs or derived from these dog breeds!
In the second group are Molossian type and this Pinscher and Schnauzer type that many cynologists believe these have Molossian or mastiff blood!
I think that this group Pinscher and Schnauzer type would be included in Group 3 Terriers!-

But the dogs i mentioned above are all Said to derive from either CAO , akbash , sarplaninac , greek shepherds...
All of these are of the molossian type ... Not of lupoid shepherd types.
