I hear he's out the breed. Hope he stays away with his rare 180 pound red rare mutts.
I'm no expert but here's my thoughts 1) Given my APBT experience will this be enough to deal with this type of breed? I had both APBTs and Am Bulldogs before my Boerboel - neither one of them prepared me in any way for dealing with this breed but that might just be a size-thing for me. I could always break my pits and bulldogs, but this dog weighs as...
very nice bb congrats
I understand fully your thoughts on the owners needing to train themselves and be prepared for the responsibility of owning large powerful dogs. Sometimes the best trained dogs will behave badly but training and socialization can mitigate the trigger.

Is the government trying to stop pet owners from feeding raw pet food? It certainly looks like it. And Answers Pet Food is courageously tackling the issue … head-on. This is big news for dog owners. It’s not just about Answers … it’s about your right to feed your pets a raw diet. Something health officials don’t want you to do. The CDC (Centers for...
these dogs are very nice, but with limited info, and practicly no dogs in my country i cant say much..They do resemble the johnson bulldog a bit..
From what ive heard there purely working dogs, its nice to see that in a bulldog..
The Pros and Cons of Having Guardian Dogs at HomeHaving a guardian dog can enhance security and companionship, but it also comes with responsibilities. Evaluate your lifestyle, living space, and commitment level before welcoming a furry protector into your home. Each owner must consider their living situation and requirements for the dog and MUST know the...
Tibetan mastiffs are monstrous dogs that survive high in the mountains, and now we know their ability to thrive in such harsh and low-oxygen environs comes from an extra shot of wolfishness in their genes. Do you believe it?
The other day I was doing some training with EGP Black Beauty and MQH Paul . I built some agility equipment. I decided to get video even though they aren't ready for competition yet. I plan to update the videos as they progress. After creating the video I wanted to have Paul check out EGP Pretty Girl Sasha to see if she was flagging. She wasn't. I...
Looking for some advice. I live in Central Texas where we have more hot days than cold. What medium sized molossers do best in hot weather?
Hi there .. I am interested to learn about the different types of CAS; Central Asia is a vast area with different terrains; for example only: How many types/strains? What are the physical differences between the different types e.g. CAS from the steppes, CAS from the mountains etc? How can the different types be identified? Does 'type' = 'strain'?...
Just in case anyone was wondering about the size of these dog's...in my profile picture is my Boz (RIP) Oz. In that picture, he was 10 months old and weighed 160 lbs. I'm guessing had my buddy not opened the gate to the yard and got hit by a car, he would have been close to 200 lbs. by the time he had finished. I can say from experience, that the...
Hi! I'm not sure I can express my thoughts about this in english, but I'll try.. Since I'm not very familiar with the American Cane I can't see the differences or similarities, but I can tell you about the Corsos I have. [list]Temperament[/list:u] My CC:s are very loyal to our family, but not at all aloof with strangers (except one of our 4 months old...
The line got started back in the 1930's in Michigan and is named after a dog Ch.Ruffian who was produced by a Plymouth breeder Floyd Klump but owned by someone else whose name escapes me at the moment. The initial use of Weimaraner blood to produce one of Ch.Ruffian's parents (can't remember whether his dam Dina or his sire Deuce was supposedly 50%...
Today, the concept of preventive medicine would be laughable if it wasn’t so tragically misguided. Most vets today believe dogs need the following to be healthy: Major surgery to remove their reproductive organs (and the important hormones they control) Vaccines (with ingredients like thimerosal, aluminum, MSG, formaldehyde and foreign animal protein)...
Hi Andreas, This is a very nice article. I take it that you remember our own article about the Alaunt which can be found at this link http://molosserdogs.com/m/articles/view/3065-alaunt It is impossible to write without bias as the words we chose are done to convey our point and will always have bias. Knowing that I understand that you have tried to be...
Sometimes I get asked about the color of a Caucasian puppy and what they may look like when they grow up. Generally speaking, the color does change some and here is an example with Nayan.
My wife and I just recently (2 months ago) purchased a 62.5% boerboel, 12.5% kangal, 12.5% dogo argenino, 12.5% great Dane from Andrew Johnston of olympicdogs.net. He is currently 5 months old and 75 lbs as of yesterday before breakfast. He is best of friends with our 10 pound terrier and loves kids. Just wondering if there are any other owners of a...
Good post, more perspective is always welcome. Plus, I always love seeing that Neo statue. [quote1320542476=Astibus] In Shars, mastiff blood does not have a positive result. It changes the dog to its core. In recent years, people presumably do it anyway for fighting purposes, but that ain't a Shar anymore. And it shows. [/quote1320542476] The reason...
The word "Shikari' means hunter, so a "shikari kutta" or shikari dog can also be used as a generic term for a hunting dog or hound. Indeed when people from Punjab see pics of my Caravan hound they refer to him as "shikari kutta" and he isnt a boar hound but a pure sighthound, they consider all sighthounds to be shikari kuttas...
Hmm wolfie, the good presa is maybe hard to find in the uk, but thats also where the very best ones are. Theres a lot of crap everywhere but if you want a real deal hardcore working presa, then the uk is the place to look. If anything, you may not qualify to get one of the real ones because it is really hard to obtain a presa from top working security...
That is indeed a good question. There are just way too many variables to give a clear answer unless we just say the strongest period regardless of size. If that is the case then I would go with the English Mastiff for sheer strength. Not considering stamina, agility, or athleticism. Enter the CO, Kangal, CAO, Bull Mastiff - and the field gets pretty...

Interesting photos. How does the Bullmastiff perform in the Brazilian heat? I have friends in Recife where it's 80s year round and very few Molossers survive there. I do know that some Brazilian Police like the Tropa de Elite take pride in their working Filas that look like giant bloodhounds that are used to hunt and sometimes kill fugitives in the jungle.
hi, I had and have some experience with estrela mountain dog. being Portuguese i had alot of contact of dogs of that breed. i don´t know CO so well but i think estrela is not so sharp in showing aggression towards strangers. when he is outside is territory is pretty quiet and relaxed dog. these dogs are used in protection of flocks crossing small villages...
Well then some of the best bandogs in the country that are being produced by Am Bully foundation didn't happen, lol. I agree most are ridiculous, but I know a few lines that have stayed the course from their original purpose. I have worked some personally. I have also heard some remarkable anecdotes about their feats. IMO, these are Am Bullies, not those...
