https://molosserdogs.com/view-video/coyote-vs-american-pitbull-terrier"Whenever wild animals encroach on our urban areas and start crossing paths with our domesticated pets, we start wondering if there are any safety issues we should be concerned about. We also are naturally inclined to worry about how well our dog would fair against a wild...
A watchdog is a dog that is trained to alert their owners or caretakers when there is an intruder or potential threat, typically by barking loudly. They are typically passive and are not trained to actively attack an intruder. They are usually kept indoors as family pets and do not require extensive training.A guard dog, on the other hand, is trained to...

Sometimes I get asked about the color of a Caucasian puppy and what they may look like when they grow up. Generally speaking, the color does change some and here is an example with Nayan.
Several years ago there was a poster I think was called bigdogs. He had published a book on large dogs. I looked on amazon and book stores and haven't seen it. Does anyone know of this book?
I watched the AKC dock diving competition yesterday and was surprised at the drive and athletic abilities of the dogs. What a cool sport. This event was in April in Ocala, Florida. It was won by a Border Collie who jumped 26 FT 9 inches.Read more

Dallas: Texas man who had been missing for months was eaten, bones and all, by his pack of dogs, sheriff's deputies said. Medical examiners said Tuesday that DNA testing determined that pieces of bone recovered from the dogs' feces were those of 57-year-old Freddie Mack, according to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office. https://gulfnews.com/world/americ...
Actually Jess. It is a bit different with dogs. You see for the most part our current crop of dogs are bred to do something.. they herd, retrieve, guard, hunt varmints, protect property and flock, and provide companionship. So my point is that if the need is for a dog to hunt varmints .. get a terrier.. that is what they were bred and developed to do.....

Old World Molossus has resurrected one of the ultimate guardian dogs that ever existed and named it the American Molossus. Assuming that the info on their website is correct, this is one phenomenal animal and to be considered by those wanting high-end protection. This is a very large breed that tips the scales near 200 lbs. They were also featured on...

Night hunting is a favorite form of hunting sport the continent over. Prime factor of the joyous, though strenuous night quest is the 'coon, the court jester and wit of the nocturnal tribe of small fur bearers.Fruits of the night huntOwing to the scarcity of other game and general distribution of raccoon the country over, 'coon hunting is gaining in...
Is the government trying to stop pet owners from feeding raw pet food? It certainly looks like it. And Answers Pet Food is courageously tackling the issue … head-on. This is big news for dog owners. It’s not just about Answers … it’s about your right to feed your pets a raw diet. Something health officials don’t want you to do. The CDC (Centers for...
Tibetan mastiffs are monstrous dogs that survive high in the mountains, and now we know their ability to thrive in such harsh and low-oxygen environs comes from an extra shot of wolfishness in their genes. Do you believe it?

From what ive heard there purely working dogs, its nice to see that in a bulldog..
The Pros and Cons of Having Guardian Dogs at HomeHaving a guardian dog can enhance security and companionship, but it also comes with responsibilities. Evaluate your lifestyle, living space, and commitment level before welcoming a furry protector into your home. The other day I was doing some training with EGP Black Beauty and MQH Paul . I built some agility equipment. I decided to get video even though they aren't ready for competition yet. I plan to update the videos as they progress. After creating the video I wanted to have Paul check out EGP Pretty Girl Sasha to see if she was flagging. She wasn't. I...
Looking for some advice. I live in Central Texas where we have more hot days than cold. What medium sized molossers do best in hot weather?
Hi there .. I am interested to learn about the different types of CAS; Central Asia is a vast area with different terrains; for example only: How many types/strains? What are the physical differences between the different types e.g. CAS from the steppes, CAS from the mountains etc? How can the different types be identified? Does 'type' = 'strain'?...
Just in case anyone was wondering about the size of these dog's...in my profile picture is my Boz (RIP) Oz. In that picture, he was 10 months old and weighed 160 lbs. I'm guessing had my buddy not opened the gate to the yard and got hit by a car, he would have been close to 200 lbs. by the time he had finished. I can say from experience, that the...
I've often thought about testing my dogs in various situations. Unfortunately, finding the means to is another story. Most of the people who would help me know my dogs and vice versa (they'd probably think it was a big game)
Today, the concept of preventive medicine would be laughable if it wasn’t so tragically misguided. Most vets today believe dogs need the following to be healthy: Major surgery to remove their reproductive organs (and the important hormones they control) Vaccines (with ingredients like thimerosal, aluminum, MSG, formaldehyde and foreign animal protein)...
Hi! I'm not sure I can express my thoughts about this in english, but I'll try.. Since I'm not very familiar with the American Cane I can't see the differences or similarities, but I can tell you about the Corsos I have. The line got started back in the 1930's in Michigan and is named after a dog Ch.Ruffian who was produced by a Plymouth breeder Floyd Klump but owned by someone else whose name escapes me at the moment. The initial use of Weimaraner blood to produce one of Ch.Ruffian's parents (can't remember whether his dam Dina or his sire Deuce was supposedly 50%...

My wife and I just recently (2 months ago) purchased a 62.5% boerboel, 12.5% kangal, 12.5% dogo argenino, 12.5% great Dane from Andrew Johnston of olympicdogs.net. He is currently 5 months old and 75 lbs as of yesterday before breakfast. He is best of friends with our 10 pound terrier and loves kids. Just wondering if there are any other owners of a...
Good post, more perspective is always welcome. Plus, I always love seeing that Neo statue. [quote1320542476=Astibus] In Shars, mastiff blood does not have a positive result. It changes the dog to its core. In recent years, people presumably do it anyway for fighting purposes, but that ain't a Shar anymore. And it shows. [/quote1320542476] The reason...
